چکیده

The Electron Stretcher Facility ELSA of Bonn University provides a polarized electron beam of up to 3.2GeV. In the stretcher ring various depolarizing resonances are crossed during the fast energy ramp of 6GeV/s. The high polarization degree of up to 70% can only be conserved by taking several appropriate countermeasures. Concerning integer resonances, additional harmonic horizontal fields are applied by orbit correction magnets around the ring to compensate the resonance driving fields. The correction field has to be adjusted by empirical optimization of polarization. Recent developments enhance this optimization process, especially at high energies: A new magnet system allows for higher correction amplitudes and shorter rising times. Furthermore, a modified correction scheme was implemented. It takes into account the additional fields of the quadrupole magnets, arising from the orbit response of the correction magnets.

CONTROL AND DATA PROCESSING OF THE DISTRIBUTED 500 MHz NARROWBAND BEAM POSITION MONITOR SYSTEM OF ELSA

The preservation of the polarization level during acceleration of the electron beam is currently the main topic at the Electron Stretcher Accelerator (ELSA) of the University of Bonn. It can be improved by a good correction of the closed-orbit relative to the magnetic quadruple centres using the method of beam-based alignment. Beam position monitor electronics, developed in the Forschungszentru...

M ay 2 00 3 SLAC – PUB – 9812 May 2003 Tracking Simulations Near Half - Integer Resonance at PEP - II 1

Beam-beam simulations predict that PEP-II luminosity can be increased by operating the horizontal betatron tune near and above a half-integer resonance. However, effects of the resonance and its synchrotron sidebands significantly enhance betatron and chromatic perturbations which tend to reduce dynamic aperture. In the study, chromatic variation of horizontal tune near the resonance was minimi...

Optimizing Disparity Candidates Space in Dense Stereo Matching

In this paper, a new approach for optimizing disparity candidates space is proposed for the solution of dense stereo matching problem. The main objectives of this approachare the reduction of average number of disparity candidates per pixel with low computational cost and high assurance of retaining the correct answer. These can be realized due to the effective use of multiple radial windows, i...

Measurement of the beam asymmetry Σ in π 0 η production off the proton with the CBELSA / TAPS experiment

In photoproduction experiments, a large number of final states yielding various resonance contributions are accessible. To extract resonance parameters via partial-wave analysis not only the measurement of differential cross-sections is necessary, but also the determination of polarization observables. At the electron accelerator ELSA (Bonn) the coherent bremsstrahlung method was used to genera...

Steganography Scheme Based on Reed-Muller Code with Improving Payload and Ability to Retrieval of Destroyed Data for Digital Images

In this paper, a new steganography scheme with high embedding payload and good visual quality is presented. Before embedding process, secret information is encoded as block using Reed-Muller error correction code. After data encoding and embedding into the low-order bits of host image, modulus function is used to increase visual quality of stego image. Since the proposed method is able to embed...
